Yearly salary = hourly wage × hours per week × paid weeks per year. Monthly pay is the yearly salary ÷ 12, biweekly ÷ 26, semi-monthly ÷ 24 and weekly ÷ the paid weeks.
These are gross amounts. To see what lands in your account, use the salary after tax calculator, or the payroll calculator to see the deductions on each paycheque.
Questions
How do I convert an hourly wage to a yearly salary?
Multiply the hourly wage by the hours you work in a week and by the paid weeks in a year. Full time at 40 hours a week is 2,080 hours a year, so $25 an hour is $52,000 a year.
How do I convert a salary to an hourly rate?
Divide the yearly salary by the paid hours in a year. At 40 hours a week, $60,000 a year is $28.85 an hour; at 37.5 hours a week it is $30.77.
Should I use 52 weeks?
Use 52 if your vacation is paid (as for most salaried employees). If you are paid only for the hours you work and take unpaid time off, enter the weeks you are actually paid, for example 50.
How much is $25 an hour after tax?
Full time in Ontario, $25 an hour ($52,000 a year) leaves about $41,641 after income tax, CPP and EI in 2026, or $3,470 a month. Pick your province above to see yours.
Does overtime change the yearly salary?
Yes. Overtime is usually paid at 1.5 times the regular rate once you pass the weekly limit set by your province (often 40 or 44 hours). Add your average overtime hours, or calculate them separately at the higher rate.
