Privacy policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
At CanadaPaycheque (canadapaycheque.com) we process as little information as possible. There are no accounts and no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking across websites, and we never sell or share information with anyone. We only count visits with a privacy-friendly tool that uses no cookies (point 4). This policy follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Person in charge of personal information
The publisher of canadapaycheque.com (see the legal notice) is responsible for the information described here and is the person in charge of the protection of personal information. For any question or request: [email protected].
Information processed and purposes
1. What you type in the calculators
Salary, pay frequency, province and the other amounts are calculated in your browser: they are not sent to us while you type, and we do not store them. We never ask for your name, employer, social insurance number or any other identifying information.
To make results easy to share, the page address is updated with the amounts you entered (for example ?amount=60000). If you reload or share that address, or use the calculator with JavaScript turned off, the amounts reach our server as part of the address requested and may appear in the technical logs described in point 3. On their own they do not identify you. When you follow a link from our site to another one, that site does not receive those amounts.
- Purpose and basis: providing the calculation you request.
2. Preferences stored in your browser
If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is saved only in your browser (local storage). It never reaches our server. Details in the cookie policy.
3. Technical server logs
Like any website, our server and Cloudflare may record technical data about each visit (IP address, date and time, page requested including its address, and browser) to keep the site secure and working. Our logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days and are not used to identify you, to build profiles or for advertising.
- Purpose and basis: security and operation of the service (legitimate interest).
4. Visit statistics
To know which pages are useful we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies, without local storage and without fingerprinting, and does not follow you across websites. A small script sends Cloudflare the page visited, the referring page, the type of browser and device, the country (worked out from the connection, without keeping the IP address) and how fast the page loaded. We only see totals, never individual visitors. The amounts you type in the calculators are not part of those statistics.
- Purpose and basis: measuring the audience and improving the site (legitimate interest). It needs no consent because nothing is stored on your device.
5. Contact email
If you write to us at [email protected], we use your email address and message only to reply to you. Mail is forwarded to our inbox through Cloudflare's email routing, and we delete it once it is no longer needed to deal with your request.
- Purpose and basis: answering your request.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no tracking cookies and no social media buttons.
- No third-party scripts, fonts or images, apart from the Cloudflare visit statistics script: everything else on the page is served from canadapaycheque.com.
- No automated decisions or profiling about you.
Service providers and communication outside Canada
To run the site we use the following service providers, who may only use information to provide their service to us. Technical information (such as your IP address) is therefore hosted or transits outside Canada and outside Quebec:
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): server hosting, where the technical logs are kept. The European Union provides a high level of protection of personal information (GDPR).
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): DNS, content delivery network and protection against attacks, through which all visits pass, cookie-free visit statistics (Web Analytics) and routing of the contact email. Cloudflare may process data outside Canada and the EU with the safeguards of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask whether we hold information about you, request access to it, its correction or deletion, object to its use or withdraw your consent, by writing to [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. Since we do not ask for any identifying information, in practice the only information we could hold is the technical log data and any email you sent us.
If you believe your request has not been handled properly, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if you live in Quebec, or to your data protection authority if you live in the European Union.
Children
CanadaPaycheque is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change the way we process information (for example by adding a feature or a service provider), we will update this page and its date before the change applies.
