What the calculators are based on
Payroll deductions are calculated with the formulas, rates and amounts published by the Canada Revenue Agency in the T4127 Payroll Deductions Formulas (123rd edition, effective July 1, 2026). Results are tested against the CRA's Payroll Deductions Online Calculator (PDOC); the method and the tests are described on How it works.
CanadaPaycheque is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Québec, any provincial or territorial government or the Government of Canada.
Limits of liability
- All results are estimates for information only. They are not tax, legal, payroll or accounting advice.
- The calculators cover the most common situations: salary or hourly pay, RRSP/RPP and union dues deducted at source, and TD1 (or Quebec TP-1015.3) claim amounts. They do not handle bonuses, commissions, taxable benefits, pensions or tax-exempt income.
- Employers remain responsible for withholding and remitting the correct amounts. Before paying employees, confirm the figures with the official tools of the CRA (and of Revenu Québec for Quebec employees) or a qualified professional.
- We update the site when a new edition of the T4127 is published (every January and July), but there may be a delay or an error. CanadaPaycheque cannot be held responsible for decisions taken on the basis of its results.
